Mother To a Twin Toddlers...

I still remember those days of my pregnancy when my loving and experience mom would tell me, “Sleep all you want to, for once the babies comes and sleep will be a history”. Seriously I want to forget those nightmare days of breastfeeding and diaper changing”. And as I twins boys, the task has been double.

I always wonder why those ladies lie to me that they enjoy a lot breastfeeding and diaper changing and think it’s an easiest part. Now my twins Shourya and Naksh are 1 and ½ year old, both grow up with two different personalities with strong like and dislikes, especially about food. One day both like a certain food and next day they won’t. If I feed them forcefully they make a face and started crying. Though I go by the famous saying that a baby can never stay hungry, there are times when I doubt this. Because my two naughty son’s Shourya and Naksh is more than happy to go without food if it’s not their favorite food.

Bathing Shourya and Naksh is another herculean task. Both doesn’t want to bathe at all and both doesn’t want to come out of the bathroom and continue playing with water and their bath toys. Shourya always behave like a good boy at the time of bath, he hold his bath toy and play with it. But Naksh he is too much, he loves to play with water and make me wet too.

As time passes, I realize my job is not only to feed, bathe or play with my little one, but a lot more. My Mind is awake for 24/7. I need to be a magician for quickly hiding anything objectionable (car keys, mobile phone etc) under my ample bottom or the pillow or any place where she will not look for. I need to be a master story teller (ok, a liar, if you please) to distract Shourya and Naksh.  I need to constantly innovate and evolve because my babies are growing smarter with each day. And on top of it all, I need patience.

So that’s my life as a mother to a twin toddlers…so many jobs rolled into one.

My Children means everything to me!!!

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

There is saying in English, “Parenting: if you are not tired, you’re not doing it right”. When I read this I realize this is perfectly applicable on me. I loved being tired after running behind Shourya and Naksh. My friends ask me how you manage your naughty twins and I just smile, and say whatever comes to my mind at that particular time. Yes I am learning, few things I teach my kids and few things they taught me, its beautiful give and take relationship.

Today I read very inspirational quote about parenting. I want to share this with all of you, “It’s not what you do for your children, but what you taught them to do for themselves that will make them successful human being”. When I read this line, something clicks in my mind, this lines defines complete meaning of parenting. This is exactly what all parents try to do.

Now my babies are sleeping so I get the time to write, how innocent they look when they sleep. “THE MOST INNOCENT BABIES IN THE WORLD”. I am only mom now; no matter what happen my kids come first it’s that simple. I started doing one rituals every night when I hold my shourya and Naksh in my arms before going to bed, I tell them, if I had to choose between loving you and breathing…. I would use my last breath to tell both of you… I Love You… When I say this both Shourya and Naksh laugh cuddle me, kiss me and I rejuvenate again.

I remember the day when I saw my Shourya and Naksh first time, after three day from their birth as I was in ICU. I was dying to see them. And when I saw my beautiful child and I touch them and hold them in my arm and tell them, my child when you were born, you never came with instruction. I know I have made some mistakes along the way and for those I am sorry. I am far from being the perfect parent, but I have always done the best I could. The mistake I have made came out of lack of understanding, not a lack of love because from the moments you were born into my life, I know I would love you with all I am. On the day you were born I looked into your eyes and all my dreams came true. I love you more than you will ever know, now for all eternity.

Week without my Mom.........

My mom went to attend one of our relatives wedding for a week. It was a tough time for me to manage my twin’s baby boys as well as home but luckily my family was being very supportive for me and helps me to manage both things.

My younger sis Shweta also came from Pune to help me in look after the babies, she was a great help. She very well manages the kitchen so I would look after my kids. Earlier I was very tense, how I will manage my naughty twins but everything was fine.

I wanna say heartily sorry to my all readers for long time no post but as my mom was not here so it’s very difficult for me to write. Now mom is here, all the worries has been over, now I can start blogging again.
